At-Home Teeth Whitening
Many patients choose an at-home product for teeth whitening because it’s more cost-effective and convenient. These products come with custom-fit bleaching trays that you wear at home and contain a bleaching gel. These gels whiten your teeth by several shades over several weeks. If you choose this option, follow the instructions carefully to avoid any sensitivity issues. Also, be careful when eating or drinking while wearing your tray to prevent spills and stains.
In-Office Teeth-Whitening
When patients come to our dentist’s office for an in-office whitening procedure, it is to have their teeth whitened as quickly as possible. The dentist uses a highly concentrated bleaching gel applied to a patient’s teeth and is activated by light, which removes color from the surface of the enamel and dentin. This treatment effectively removes stains caused by food, drinks, lifestyle habits, medications, tobacco, and age, so patients see results quickly.
Veneers
Porcelain veneers are thin shells of porcelain that fit over the front of your teeth to change the appearance of your smile completely. They are custom-made for a perfect fit and will look and feel like your natural teeth. At the first appointment, we will prepare your teeth for the veneer by removing a small amount of enamel from the front of your teeth to ensure that the veneers fit properly. Then we will take impressions of your teeth to send to the lab where the veneers will be fabricated. Once your custom veneers are ready, you’ll come back to our office to have them bonded to your teeth.
Botox
Botox is a prescription medication that is injected into the muscles of the face. The drug causes temporary paralysis in the injected muscles and reduces wrinkles caused by muscle movement. This treatment option is best for patients who experience dynamic wrinkles, which are facial lines that appear when muscles contract due to facial expressions such as smiling and frowning. Some patients may benefit from combining Botox and dermal fillers to achieve optimal results.
Clear aligners
Clear aligners are a series of transparent removable trays that fit over your teeth to shift them incrementally into place. Each set of trays is custom-made to fit your mouth, so they fit comfortably and tightly without irritating your cheeks or gums. They are made of smooth, BPA-free plastic that won’t irritate your gums.
The aligner trays are designed using digital impressions taken of your mouth. Once your treatment starts, you’ll change to the next set in the series approximately every two weeks, and most patients finish their treatment within a year. You’ll wear the aligners every day, removing them only to eat, drink, brush, and floss. Your teeth will shift gradually with every set until they reach the final position prescribed by your dentist.
